Ritz cracker to be specific. It&#8217;s the joy of the holidays when you&#8217;re waiting to gorge yourself for the main meal and there&#8217;s a spread of cheese and dips. Crackers are something I just don&#8217;t usually buy. But sometimes I do because my Abby likes them. She has been hooked on them lately&#8230;and if you shop at Aldi a box is pretty cheap. Like what? Obesity, cravings, and health problems? I&#8217;ll deprive them of that any day. My mission is not to just cut things out, it&#8217;s to replace with BETTER stuff. Better tasting and better for you. It&#8217;s possible. It&#8217;s a science. Processed food contains unhealthy fats, oils, and sugars that trigger stuff to happen in your brain! You want more of it and it takes a lot to get you full. Satisfaction rarely happens. I found it while searching the other night. Boy oh boy they&#8217;re good. I really think they taste and have the same texture as a Ritz (well this is the off brand). I actually like the homemade better.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/-0vwJCILhc_I\/URMlMP9bBTI\/AAAAAAAAAOA\/NspQU0I-S7o\/s1600\/IMG_2997.JPG\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" height=\"240\" src=\"http:\/\/fitsteph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/IMG_2997.jpg\" width=\"320\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>\n<b>Homemade Ritz Crackers<\/b><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li>2 cups all-purpose flour<\/li>\n<li>3 tsp baking powder<\/li>\n<li>1 tbsp sugar<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp + another 1\/2 tsp salt for topping<\/li>\n<li>6 tbsp cold unsalted butter + 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted<\/li>\n<li>2 tbsp vegetable oil (I used Olive oil)<\/li>\n<li>2\/3 cup water<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li>Preheat oven to 400 F.<\/li>\n<li>Put the flour, baking powder, sugar, and 1\/2 tsp of salt in food processor.<\/li>\n<li>Pulse to combine.<\/li>\n<li>Add cold butter a few small chunks at a time, and pulse to combine.<\/li>\n<li>Add vegetable\/olive oil.&nbsp; Pulse to combine.<\/li>\n<li>Add water a little bit at a time.&nbsp; Pulse to combine after each addition.&nbsp; The dough should start to form a ball.<\/li>\n<li>Roll dough out as thin as you can.&nbsp; Mine ended up being all different thicknesses.&nbsp; Don&#8217;t sweat it.&nbsp; They are homemade! &nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Use cookie cutters to cut the dough out. &nbsp;I used a small circle that actually used to be a glass votive candle holder! Just get creative with what you have in your house.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Poke holes in them if you&#8217;d like. I used the end of my mixing beater and it worked fine.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Put them on a cookie sheet&#8230;.next time I&#8217;m going to roll the dough on wax paper or foil, cut the shape, and take away the excess dough without moving the cookie so it stays uniform and saves time!<\/li>\n<li>Cook for 10-12 minutes or just be aware of how they&#8217;re cooking cause everyone&#8217;s oven is a touch different.<\/li>\n<li>Pull them out when browning slightly and brush your butter\/salt topping on each cracker. I&#8217;d use 1 tsp salt in the 3 tbsp butter next time.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>One batch makes pretty much a whole box of crackers so store them and enjoy!
