Smoothies are a great way to get a punch of nutrition while you’re on the go. Before you head out for the day, make a quick smoothie and take it with you! This berry smoothie recipe is my favorite, and it’s loaded with antioxidant rich, lower-sugar fruits. Most of the ingredients can be stored in the freezer, making this super easy to have on hand and make before getting on the road for the day. This smoothie was made with a Nutribullet, which makes the drink quickly and very creamy.

Berry Smoothie
1/2-3/4 frozen banana
1 cup frozen mixed berries
Small handful of spinach
1 tbsp flaxseed
1 tbsp chia seed (optional)
1 heaping scoop of vanilla protein powder (I use Orgain with Superfoods)
Fill with unsweetened almond milk to max line

Directions:
Combine all ingredients in Nutribullet, putting milk in last.
Screw lid on tight and blend.
Once smooth and creamy (20-30 seconds), stop blending and remove lid.
Pour into a to-go cup and enjoy!

Tips for storing:
Buy an extra bunch of bananas. Peel and break them in half, and put in a freezer safe bag. Pull out when time to make your smoothie. Freezing reduces the need for ice.
Buy frozen fruit mixes from the freezer section at the store. The fruit will be washed, cut, and conveniently in a bag for you to just scoop out. No need for expensive smoothie bags, just buy either separate bags of different fruits or fruit that is combined.
Buy your spinach fresh and then freeze it as well. This will help it from going bad, and you can just pull a small handful out at a time for your smoothies.
